Company Section - December 2019 / January 2020
Thanks go to everyone who attended the Remembrance Sunday service on November 10th.
Remembrance Sunday services are always an important occasion for the Company, and we were pleased that the weather stayed dry for the march past.
A special mention goes to Lieutenant Stewart Gray for playing Last Post and Reveille either side of the two minutes’ silence, and to Matthew Leitch for his Bible reading.
With Christmas fast-approaching there are a number of Company events and competitions taking place.
In the last week, boys took part in the District Lazer Planet Competition at Scotkart in Clydebank, and we are currently practising hard ahead of the District Drill Competition which will be held in early-December.
A number of boys working towards their Queen’s Badge have also just taken part in a course run by Glasgow Battalion focusing on media skills including video filming and editing.
We have also recently confirmed plans for Summer Camp 2020. The Company will be staying at Glenfeshie Hostel in the Cairngorms National Park between Kingussie and Aviemore from 3rd to 7th August.
This is an area well-known to us from previous years, and we’ll use the hostel as a base to take part in a range of outdoor activities over the course of the week.
We expect to round off activities for this year with our traditional Christmas Fancy Dress Party on Friday, December 20th, and will resume in the New Year on Friday, January 10th.
We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
