Company Section - November 2019
The early months of the Boys’ Brigade session have seen boys take part in a number of competitions against local companies with more to follow in the coming weeks.
Late-September saw a number of boys take part in the District Sports at Scotstoun Stadium, where they competed in a range of track and field events.
Nearly 100 boys were present across Junior Section and Company Section age groups, and congratulations goes to Dakota Sattar, who finished first place overall in the Company Section senior age group having won a series of individual events.
That was followed in early-October by the District Five-a-Side Football for younger boys in the Company. Our team of Logan MacLeod, Angus Happell, John Luca Mackay, Kyle Thomson and Ethan Walker-Reid finished in an impressive second-place, outperforming some older teams in the process.
With the October holidays now out of the way, we’re looking forward to the District Lazer Planet Competition at Scotkart in November, and the District Drill Competition in early-December.
Late-October also six of our boys complete the Building Your Skills course run by Glasgow Battalion. Focusing on leadership and communication skills, it’s one of the elements required by boys wihsing to earn their President’s Badges.
Finally, the Bugle Band is also practising ahead of the first Service for Uniformed Organisations of the session, which will take place on Remembrance Sunday, 10 November.
