Company Section - September 2019
As July ended, Company Section boys and leaders travelled to Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre in Argyll for our annual Summer Camp.
We enjoyed a busy five days with boys taking part in a wide range of activities, with highlights including gorge walking, abseiling, kayaking and canoeing, climbing, archery and raft building.
It turned out to be a packed week, with instructors keeping boys busy morning, afternoon and evening, with many of the activities proving challenging for all concerned.
The weather was changeable, but as many of the activities involved getting wet anyway, this was no obstacle.
And with the sun having come out on Friday, there was time to take the ferry from Dunoon for a dip in the outdoor pool at Gourock before heading home.
Having returned from camp, our attention now turns towards the beginning of the new session, with enrolment taking place on Friday, 30th August at 8.00pm.
Normal activities include sports, games, badge work, bugle band, drill, vaulting and a large number of competitions with other local companies as well as our own Company outings.
The size of Company Section grew over last session, and with a number of boys joining from Junior Section, we expect this year to be a busy one, but any boy between the school ages of P7 and S6 is more than welcome to join us.
