Company Section - Summer 2019
The Company would like to thank everyone who attended our Annual Inspection and Display on May 17th.
We were delighted to have such a large number of people attending and sharing in the occasion, and we are extremely grateful to have not just the parents and families of boys coming along, but so many members of the church showing their support as well.
The evening saw five of our senior boys – Nathan Alexander, Sam Key, Lewis MacDonald, Jonathan McArdle and Cameron McArdle – receive their President’s Badge.
All five boys will have the opportunity to begin working towards their Queen’s Badge next session.
With the night also featuring our annual prizegiving, there was a further reason to celebrate for Lewis MacDonald, who was squad commander of this year's Squad Challenge Prize winners, Squad No. 3.
The main individual prize for the year, the Award for Efficiency, was won by Tom Hamilton.
Our Inspecting Officer was John Sharp, Director for The Boys’ Brigade in Scotland, and thanks go to him and to our Chaplain and Chairman for the evening, George Mackay, for their contributions.
Anyone who missed the evening, or indeed those who want to relive it, should visit the Company’s Facebook page – www.facebook.com/130thglasgowbb – where they can watch footage from the evening. Please “like” the page itself to be kept up-to-speed with future updates.
Company Section is now planning an end-of-session trip to Pinkston Watersports Centre in early-June, after which attention will turn to our Summer Camp, which takes place at Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre in Argyll from July 29th to August 2nd.
Finally, Company Section will enrol for session 2019-2020 in the large hall on Friday, August 30th at 8.00pm.
