Company Section Summer 2018
The Company would like to thank everyone who attended our Annual Inspection and Display on May 18th.
We were delighted to see so many people attending and sharing in the occasion, with our five most senior boys, Lewis Grant, Varnit Gupta, Alistair Meldrum, Dhruv Shah and Fergus Watson receiving their Queen’s Badges, the highest award in the Brigade.
The boys received their certificates at the Queen’s Badge Presentation Ceremony, at Glasgow City Chambers on May 24th, along with around 80 others from Glasgow Battalion.
All five boys also received their discharge certificates at the display, having reached the Brigade age limit.
With the night also featuring our annual prizegiving, there was a further reason to celebrate for Dhruv Shah, who was squad commander of this year's Squad Challenge Prize winners, Squad No. 3.
The main individual prize for the year, the Award for Efficiency, was won by Nathan Alexander.
Our Inspecting Officer was Alan Hunter, Training and Development Officer for The Boys’ Brigade in Scotland, and thanks go to him and to our Chaplain and Chairman for the evening, George Mackay, for their contributions.
Anyone who missed the evening, or indeed those who want to relive it, can watch a time lapse video below of the entire evening in roughly 90 seconds.
Attention now turns to our Summer Camp, which takes place at Ardeonaig Outdoor Centre near the banks of Loch Tay in Perthshire from August 6th to 10th. We have nine boys attending, and we expect a busy week.
Finally, Company Section will enrol for session 2018-2019 in the large hall on Friday, August 31st at 8.00pm.
