Company Section February 2017
The Company bid farewell to 2016 with our traditional Christmas fancy dress party featuring a mix of games and food and drink.
A special mention goes to Lewis MacDonald who won best costume for coming dressed as Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara.
Chris himself even praised Lewis’s outfit on Twitter, which is probably worth more than the £20 gift voucher Lewis won.
The New Year has got off to a busy start, with eight boys taking part in the District Go-Karting Competition at The Experience in Hillington. John Law came third in the senior age group, while the staff had a busy time as we were organising the event for all 57 participants.
The next event will be the District Badminton Competition which will be held at Scotstoun towards the end of the month.
Late-January also saw us holding our annual Burns Supper, with boys taking the lead with music, poetry and toasts in what was a lively evening.
Participation in the night counts towards the Company's awards programme, and always proves to be a fun way of learning about our national bard.
To round off a busy month, five boys will be taking part in a course aimed at helping them work towards their Queen’s Badge, while congratulations go to Lewis Grant, who was awarded his President’s Badge this month.
Finally, we would like to offer advance notice that the next Service for Uniformed Organisations will take place at the Church on Sunday, March 19th.
