About Us

The 130th Glasgow Company, The Boys' Brigade is a youth organisation based in Broomhill in the west end of Glasgow, Scotland. Our three age sections all meet on Friday nights during school term time and membership is open to boys between the ages of 5 and 18. Each section runs a packed but varied programme of activities and events that is not only energetic but challenging and enjoyable.

Company Section Summer 2016

The Company would like to thank everyone who attended our Annual Inspection and Display on May 13th.

The evening was a great success, with five of our senior boys, Alistair Meldrum, Fergus Watson, Dhruv Shah, Ruairidh Paterson and Varnit Gupta receiving their President's Badges. They will begin work on their Queen's Badges shortly.

The evening also saw our oldest boy, Ian Black, receive his discharge certificate having reached the Brigade age limit.

Ian has always been a diligent member of the Company, setting a good example to the boys around him, and we wish him every success for the future.

With the night also featuring our annual prizegiving, there were many reasons to celebrate for Lachlan Callen who won the main individual prize for the year, the Award for Efficiency, and the Squad Challenge Prize, having commanded this year's winning squad, Squad No. 3.

Our Inspecting Officer was Colonel John Kelly, President of The Boys' Brigade Glasgow Battalion and thanks go to him and to our Chaplain and Chairman for the evening, George Mackay, for their contributions.

Anyone who missed the evening, or indeed those who want to relive it, should visit the Company’s Facebook page – www.facebook.com/130thglasgowbb – where they can watch a time lapse video of the entire evening in just 90 seconds. Please “like” the page itself to be kept up-to-speed with future updates.

Attention now turns to our Summer Camp, which takes place at Findhorn on the Moray coast from August 1st to 5th. We have 13 boys attending, so we expect a busy week.

Finally, Company Section will enrol for session 2016-2017 in the large hall on Friday, September 2nd at 8.00pm
