Anchor Section February 2019
Since last writing we have had exciting times with the Anchor Boys.
The Christmas Party was enjoyed by all and traditional games like musical chairs continue to be a big hit! Naturally the high point of the evening was the visit from Santa with his large sack of gifts.
We have now met twice on Friday evenings in January. The first evening we had “Epiphany“ as our theme and the boys coloured in pictures of the wise men presenting their gifts to Jesus. The boys then made gifts to take home and our story was based on how Jesus is God’s gift to mankind.
Last Friday we turned our thoughts to the start of the year. Our story was the parable of the wise man building his house on the rocks. We talked about New Year’s Resolutions and how having Jesus as a solid base to our lives would make a superb resolution for us all. We made calendars illustrated with a picture of the Section and enjoyed using the large hall for part of the evening for games. We now have nineteen boys and the extra space was most welcomed.
We also attended a Lego morning organised by the Glasgow Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade. The boys undertook various challenges and had a real sense of satisfaction after making motorised trains which then ran about the hall.
