About Us

The 130th Glasgow Company, The Boys' Brigade is a youth organisation based in Broomhill in the west end of Glasgow, Scotland. Our three age sections all meet on Friday nights during school term time and membership is open to boys between the ages of 5 and 18. Each section runs a packed but varied programme of activities and events that is not only energetic but challenging and enjoyable.

Anchor Section November 2018

We are now settled into our Anchor Boy year. We have sixteen boys in the section and so far the attendance has been excellent all round. On Friday evenings the Small Hall is busy with lots of games, crafts and activities.

This month we have been exploring space. We started off by looking at how God created the world and universe. We continued by looking at a favourite space traveller of the boys, namely Buzz Lightyear from the film “Toy Story”. Although there was some jealousy when Buzz first arrived the toys later became good friends. As friends they did well on their adventures together. This is a model for us on how God loves us and sent Jesus to be a friend to us throughout the big adventure of life.

In the last couple of weeks we have played space-related games involving planets and shooting stars, introduced the boys to parachute games and made popcorn.

Our next meeting will be the annual Fancy Dress Party and we look forward to having the boys in a variety of imaginative costumes.
