Anchor Boys Summer 2017
A very varied year has now come to an end. We have had a mixture of our usual Friday evening activities interspersed with outings, parties, fund raising and taking part in both the Patrick District and Glasgow Battalion competitions.
All the boys who took part in the recent Battalion colouring competition were rewarded with either a bronze, silver or gold certificate. Congratulations also go to Matthew Gillespie who got first prize in the Patrick District competition.
We started and finished the year with outings. At the beginning of the session the boys had fun playing at The Jungle in the City and we finished with a great visit along with the Junior Section to the Almond Valley Heritage Centre.
We managed to escape the worst of the day's rain by going east and had a fun filled day which passed by all too quickly.
High points of the day included time spent in the soft play areas, the tractor ride round the paddocks, close encounters with small furry animals, go-karting, whizzing through the forests on zip wires and finishing the outing with a ride on the narrow gauge railway. As well as seeing many farm animals the boys got to feed some lambs.
We are now having a break whilst the boys enjoy the summer with their families.
Enrolment for next year's action packed session will take place on Friday September 1st. All boys entering Primaries 1, 2 or 3 are welcome to join us.
