About Us

The 130th Glasgow Company, The Boys' Brigade is a youth organisation based in Broomhill in the west end of Glasgow, Scotland. Our three age sections all meet on Friday nights during school term time and membership is open to boys between the ages of 5 and 18. Each section runs a packed but varied programme of activities and events that is not only energetic but challenging and enjoyable.

Anchor Boys Summer 2016

We finished our Anchor Boy Year with two special events. The first was a games evening led by Graham and Shabaz who are employed by the Glasgow Battalion of the Boys' Brigade as Sports Development Officers. We had a lovely sunny evening and had a great night in Naseby Park. The boys enjoyed playing a lot of new games. They were also taught how to throw and catch a rugby ball followed by games using rugby balls.

Our final event was our outing to Edinburgh Zoo along with the Junior Section. Again another sunny day and we had a leisurely stroll round the zoo seeing many of the animals and birds along the way. We got to see the giant panda Yang Guang up close. He was busy chewing his way through a big pile of bamboo. By the time we were on the bus home there were many happy but tired boys and a few slept most of the way home! After the summer we shall reconvene. Enrolment will be on Friday September 2nd, and any boy in Primary 1, 2 or 3 will be most welcome to join us.
