About Us

The 130th Glasgow Company, The Boys' Brigade is a youth organisation based in Broomhill in the west end of Glasgow, Scotland. Our three age sections all meet on Friday nights during school term time and membership is open to boys between the ages of 5 and 18. Each section runs a packed but varied programme of activities and events that is not only energetic but challenging and enjoyable.

Anchor Boys May 2016

Since last writing the boys have had two special events, a Lego morning and attending morning worship for the service for the uniformed organisations. Both were well attended and the bright sunny morning let us take part in the march past the church.

The Lego morning was organised by the Glasgow Battalion. The boys had two hours of pure delight as they enjoyed being challenged to make a horse drawn chariot, a battery operated spinning top, Minions and a lot more. The two hours passed by very quickly and a great time was had by all.

There are two more events in store this session, with a games evening organised by the sports development officers of the Glasgow Battalion. We are hoping for fine weather so that we can have this in Naseby Park. They have taken this event for other Anchor Boy sections and had lots of favourable feedback.

And in mid-May we are returning to one of our favourite venues of the boys and staff, namely Edinburgh Zoo. We are all looking forward to this ending of our Boys' Brigade year.
